Promoting women’s health through increasing breast cancer awareness, providing access to life-saving screening and diagnostic services, and facilitating timely diagnosis for those who may be at risk
Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women worldwide - affecting over 2 million women each year. Despite advances in medical research and technology, many women still face obstacles in accessing timely breast cancer screening and diagnostic services. This leads to a higher risk of late-stage diagnoses, reduced treatment options and poorer health outcomes. In Greece, too many women are diagnosed with breast cancer at late stages (III and IV), which greatly diminishes their quality of life and their chance of survival. Fear, societal stigmas, misconceptions and lack of awareness, all play a major role in preventing women from taking proactive steps towards early detection.
Magenta seeks to address this through:
Facilitating access to a range of screening tests, such as mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies and other relevant diagnostic procedures, tailored to the specific requirements of each woman, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of their breast health
Educating women about breast cancer prevention, including the importance of recognizing warning signs and symptoms, conducting regular self-examinations and knowing when to seek immediate medical attention
Organizing events and campaigns to engage the community and raise awareness about breast health and the importance of early detection in breast cancer
Breaking down stigmas associated with breast cancer by encouraging open dialogue and cultivating an environment of support and inclusivity, where women feel empowered to share their experiences and seek help
Providing ongoing support and resources to women diagnosed with breast cancer, offering guidance and access to a network of healthcare professionals, survivors and support groups throughout their journey
